How to Execute Ideas - Behind the Scenes of Have Fun Do Good
I receive a bunch of emails each week asking how we're doing this, what inspires us, etc etc. So, I thought it'd be cool to start showing some more behind the scenes stuff of Have Fun Do Good. Ideas are a dime a dozen. If you don't put them into action, what's the point?
Here are a 3 things that I do to execute an idea.
1. Get Feedback
If I feel like I have something good to work with, the first thing I'll do is call a couple friends and run the idea by them. This gives me a sense as to whether or not the idea is worth executing on. I can usually tell within the first minute or so based on their reaction if it's a hit or miss.
When I decide to move forward with an idea, I like to have a loose strategy in place. This doesn't have to be a 10 page document on how you're going to do it. Write some bullet points down and decide how you want to pull it off. Important: don't overthink this.
Just do it. For real. Don't get caught up having everything in the right place. Be intentional about what you're looking to accomplish and go for it. Nothing happens without doing the work. You will absolutely second guess yourself at times. Push through that doubt and put in the work.
A real life example:
Our team has been toiling around with how we want to share our content and the meaning behind it. We came to the conclusion, there's a lot of phoniness out there. Media tends to focus on all of the bad stuff. Influencers are constantly promoting themselves and the newest product you must have. That's not our style. Our goal is to put out GOOD content focusing on people doing GOOD stuff for this world. We're kicking it off my documenting an upcoming trip to Houston, Texas. It's in the early stages, but we want you to feel a part of this journey. Watch the video below and let us know what you think in the comments. If you have an idea you're working on, make it happen!
