Our experiences are an adventure. While a lot of planning goes into the trips, there are certain elements that are out of our control. We encourage you to maintain a positive attitude and be flexible while on the trip (it goes a long way). We ask that you be respectful to the other participants and to those we volunteer alongside of. Last, but not least, HAVE FUN. Laugh and enjoy the experience. It goes fast!
We encourage an atmosphere of trust, honesty, integrity, and openness. We are all about building community and fostering new relationships.
We reserve the right to send participants home based on the following: use of illegal drugs or paraphernalia, stealing or vandalism, possession or use of any weapons, guns, explosive devices or knives, sexual harassment, and verbal harassment.
NOTE: While we do our best to adhere to the planned itinerary, there are certain elements that are out of our control. Volunteer opportunities, weather, travel times, etc. make itinerary subject to change. Have Fun Do Good is not responsible for personal belongings.

Things to think about:
We suggest checking with your cell phone provider prior to leaving. Most will offer an international plan for a limited time. You can also purchase SIM cards there. Our accommodations do have WIFI.
We recommend traveling with some cash. The current exchange rate is roughly 550 colones to the dollar. You are able to withdrawal from the ATMs in Costa Rica. Mostly everywhere takes credit cards. Check with your bank ahead of time on international transaction cards. We also suggest you contact your credit card company prior to leaving. Indicate to them you will be traveling international to avoid any holds.
If you’re flying into Liberia, expect to wait approximately 30minutes to 1hour in the custom’s line. Most airlines arrive around the same time each day, which causes for quite the bottle neck.
WE’LL BE WAITING:
Our guides will be waiting for you at the airport. Don’t be overwhelmed by the swell of cab drivers trying to get your business. Look for a red “Have Fun Do Good” flag. Should you have issues finding us, please text or email the numbers below.
The drinking water in Costa Rica is safe to drink. Just to be safe, we suggest drinking bottled water that we’ll provide.
We highly recommend making a photo copy of your passport and bringing it with you. We are not responsible for your passport.
